Dignity is not charity. It is infrastructure.
UVFT builds employment, food security and skills-based education with the unemployed and vulnerable communities of Zimbabwe — not for them.
Who we are
A Trust built on one idea: communities already hold the knowledge to grow.
The Unemployed and Vulnerable Foundation Trust (UVFT) is a non-profit founded in 2017 as a self-help group and registered as a Trust in 2020. We work alongside Zimbabwe's Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Women Affairs, and Ministry of Social Welfare, complementing — never duplicating — government effort.
Our mandate
Employment creation, infrastructure development, food security and skills-based inclusive education for the marginalised boys and girls in our society.
Who we serve
Young women, unemployed youth, people with disabilities, and other key and vulnerable populations, aged 7 to 50, across Bulawayo Metropolitan and Matabeleland North.
How we work
We promote socio-economic freedom as the true measure of sustainable impact — designing every programme with the community, not for it.
How change happens
One programme, four stages, in sequence.
Every UVFT intervention moves through the same pipeline — from skills to advocacy to strengthened income to a real job.
Training
200 women trained in urban farming with Agritex.
Advocacy
Climate-adaptation knowledge turned into community voice.
Economic strengthening
A cold-storage supply chain built with local structures.
Employment creation
Trained participants moved into real income.
Vision
An active, educated Zimbabwe.
A generation of morally upright young men and women who understand, respect and uphold the welfare of the disadvantaged.
— Mission
Prevent. Redeem. Employ.
We prevent and redeem unemployed young people through job creation, SRHR education, economic strengthening and moral formation — built with, not for, the communities we serve.
What we won't compromise on
Our values
Working relationships
We complement government effort — we don't compete with it.
Your contribution builds a livelihood, not a handout.
Every donation is tied to a real programme outcome — a training slot filled, cold-storage capacity added, or a young person moved into income.
